Sponsor terms

These terms apply when a business listed on Elite Wedding Society (“EWS”) adds a prize and an entrants' offer to one of our giveaways. The giveaway itself is run under its own rules, published on the giveaway's page before entries open.

Your prize

You describe your prize and its value honestly, at your normal price. Once we approve it, it's listed on the giveaway page and in the rules with your business name. When entries open, the prize list is fixed for the rest of the giveaway: you can't withdraw or change your prize after that. If something about it changes before entries open, tell us straight away.

You deliver the prize to the winners yourself, within six months of the draw, at no cost to them, with no conditions beyond those in your prize description (for example, a reasonable choice of dates). We put you in touch with the winners after the draw. The Consumer Protection Act says winners may not be asked to pay anything to receive a prize, and we'll hold you to that.

Your offer for entrants

Your offer is separate from the giveaway: nobody has to take it up to enter or to win. Couples choose whether to see the sponsors' offers, and a couple's name, email, wedding date and area only reach you when they ask for your offer. You honour the offer as described for every couple who asks for it before its end date, and you use their details only to reply about it and their wedding. You don't add them to mailing lists without their own consent.

Fee and payment

If there is a sponsor fee, we agree it with you before your prize is approved, and it goes towards advertising the giveaway. Your prize goes live once the fee is paid. We don't promise a number of entries or enquiries; we report the real numbers to you after the draw.

Publicity

We may name your business, prize and offer, and use your listing's photos, on the giveaway page, in the rules, in emails to entrants who asked for offers, and in social posts about the giveaway.

If something goes wrong

If you can't deliver your prize, tell us immediately: you remain responsible for giving the winners its value or an equivalent they accept. We may remove a sponsor who breaks these terms from future giveaways and, where needed, from the directory.
